Whether you’re already part of the burlesque community, thinking about attending your first show or simply looking for something rather more exciting than another evening in front of the television, there are some fantastic events coming up across the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here are a few that have caught our eye at Burlesque Girl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd Brighton<\/strong> We’re starting with a whole weekend of burlesque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Brighton Burlesque Festival takes place over the final weekend of August, with events including the Brighton Burlesque Festival & Summer Ball: Seaside Crown<\/strong> on Saturday 29 August and further festival activities, workshops and the Summer Ball across the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For anyone wanting to immerse themselves in burlesque rather than simply attend a single show, a festival weekend sounds like a particularly good way of doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd Gloucester<\/strong> The Hundred Watt Club brings its particular mixture of cabaret and variety entertainment to Gloucester at the beginning of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If your idea of a good night involves glamour, comedy, cabaret and the unexpected, this could be one to put in the diary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udcc5 Sunday 6 September 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A little mystery never hurt anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Clandestine Cabaret returns on 6 September, offering another opportunity to experience the wonderfully varied world of live cabaret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd Chapel Arts Centre<\/strong> For something firmly rooted in burlesque and tease, The Bad Flower Burlesque Revue<\/strong> arrives at Chapel Arts Centre on Saturday 12 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With an evening running from approximately 7:30pm until 11pm, this looks like a proper night of burlesque entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd The Y Theatre<\/strong> September 12th is clearly a good night to own some sequins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Peacock Lounge Burlesque & Cabaret: Spectacular September!<\/strong> takes place at The Y Theatre, promising another evening of burlesque and cabaret entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you’re anywhere nearby, this is certainly one we’d have on the shortlist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd The Vat and Fiddle<\/strong> Heading into the following weekend, Dirty Deeds Productions brings another burlesque and tease event to The Vat and Fiddle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s particularly good to see events appearing in venues of all shapes and sizes. Burlesque doesn’t need a huge theatre to create a fantastic atmosphere, some of the most memorable performances happen when the audience is right there with the performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd Glee Club, Mermaid Quay, Cardiff<\/strong> Cardiff gets its turn on Sunday 20 September with The Gilded Merkin Burlesque & Cabaret<\/strong> at the Glee Club in Mermaid Quay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s another opportunity to experience a mixture of burlesque and cabaret in a live setting and perhaps discover a performer you’ve never seen before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \ud83d\udccd Komedia Bath<\/strong> The Hundred Watt Club appears again later in the month, this time heading to Bath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The show takes place at Komedia Bath on Thursday 24 September, providing another helping of cabaret and variety as September draws towards its end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We couldn’t really write about what’s happening in the world of burlesque without mentioning Burlesque The Musical<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The UK tour is currently underway, with upcoming dates including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stoke-on-Trent:<\/strong> until 29 August The tour then continues to other UK cities later in the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While a major musical and the independent burlesque scene are very different things, anything that puts the word burlesque<\/em> in front of new audiences has the potential to encourage people to explore the art form further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And we rather like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Behind every show are performers, producers, venues, photographers, costume makers, technicians and countless other people putting enormous amounts of work into creating something special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So if there’s a burlesque show happening near you, consider going along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You might discover your new favourite performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You might leave wanting to take a class yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Or you might simply have a fantastic night out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And if you’re a performer, producer or venue with an upcoming event<\/strong>, we’d love to hear about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our ambition for Burlesque Girl<\/strong> is to help people discover performers and events throughout the UK and, as our community grows, much further afield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So tell us what’s happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next great night of burlesque might be closer than you think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Burlesque Girl \u2014 Glitz.
